Throught the negotiation process, civil society and rights-holder groups have raised concerns about the participation of
the petrochemical and plastics industry, calling for mechanisms to safeguard against undue corporate influence.
Drawing on existing models and frameworks in global governance, this project brings together materials on conflict of
interest and investigates the influence of corporate political strategies over the development and implementation of the plastics treaty
